We’re back for the 5th. annual Mock Draft Contest. his year only 12 mocks, a little disappointing but the pot is $240. Winners will be posted on the site, and all totals will be posted on “contestant entries” page at bottom of everyones mock. Good Luck. The more entires the bigger the pot, so get as many people as you can to join this year…
Congratulations to Jason Tucker won this thing in a landslide. Once again Frank Miosi had one of the lowest scores with 9 points, not be be out done by a pathetic 3 points by Howey G. lol Good job guys now pay up… Jay T needs his money!!!!
Jason T – 1st place $180.00 82 points
Chris A – 2nd place $60.00 44 points
Mocks are in and we only had 12 mocks, down 3 from last year which is disappointing considering everyone I talk to loves this contest. anyways the pot is $240. Last years winners were:
1st. – $150.00 – Mike M
2nd. – $100.00 – Chris A
3rd. – $50.00 Jay F
I will post the scores of each mock on the “contestant entries” page next to your name. Please be sure to review your mock and make sure I got it correct. Thanks
ENTER AS MANY MOCKS AS YOU WANT… I figure this will be a good way to up the pot, so enter as many as you want $20.00 a pop!!!
1st. place = $210.00 – MIKE M
2nd. place = $ 125.00 – JAY F
3rd. place = $65.00 – DAVE M
1st place = $130.00 – JASON T
2nd place = $70.00 – FRANK I
3rd place = $40.00 – CHRIS D
THE FANTASY DRAFT – would be the entire first round. Each pick 1 – 32 will be assessed a point value. Obviously the first pick would be worth 1 point, 2nd. pick = 2pts, 3rd. pick = 3 points and so on, making the 32nd pick = 32 points. The total points at the end of the first round wins the jackpot, with 2nd, and 3rd. place prizes as well.
TIE BREAKERS – If at the end of the draft there are ties, we will have a tie breaker. What I have come up with is each contestant will answer 3 or 4 questions and submit that with your mock draft (i.e. how many Defensive tackles will be taking in the top 10 picks?) Whoever gets it, or comes closest will win the tie breaker. If there is still a tie it will go to the 2nd tie breaker question and so on.
PRIZES – There will be a 1st place 2nd place, and 3rd place prizes at the end of the draft. I cannot asses the cash amounts until I know how many people will be entering the draft. I am thinking of a $20.00 entrance fee for all contestants.
Each mock will be posted onto the “Contestant Entries” page, that way you can all keep track for yourselves and not accuse me of any funny business. You can submit your mock right on the site as well, that way I don’t have to email everyone and keep sending emails when I receive mocks, just check back here on draft day. Any trouble submitting mocks, or questions just use my E-mail address. email@example.com or Twitter @rockydm92
RULES– Everything is pretty self explanatory, but there is one area that is a little gray, and that is trades. We have decided that you are not writing your mock for which team will draft which player, but the slot that the player will be selected. In other words, hypothetically speaking. If you firmly believe the Buffalo Bills will trade up to the number 1 overall pick to grab Geno Smith, then you should write Geno Smith in your #1 slot. Because if you mark him down in the 8th. slot and there is a trade you will not get the point. So what I’m saying is just because you knew the Bills were going to draft Smith doesn’t mean you get points, you have to guess Geno Smith’s draft slot, not the team.
**ALL MOCK DRAFTS HAVE A $20.00 ENTRANCE FEE MUST BE SUBMITTED BY TUESDAY TUESDAY MAY, 6TH NO LATER THAN 3:00PM** ANYTHING LATER WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AS IT WOULD CREATE AN UNFAIR ADVANTAGE.
